Customer Testimonials

Having already seen success with a lo-fi, short format customer video campaign the previous year, the Marketing team was tasked with creating a series of customer testimonials with much higher production quality. I was responsible for art directing the motion graphic overlays, as well as refining the final video edits to capture the most compelling sound bites while telling a cohesive story about each customer and their experience using our product. Video production was done in collaboration with Mutiny.

The Concept

We decided early on in the production process that we wanted to include motion graphics to bring the product UI experience to life. Several styles were explored and as we narrowed the selection we eventually landed on a treatment that felt abstracted yet detailed enough to add a level of realism. Style frames were shared back for approval as the post-production work took shape.

The initial shoot captured four US based customers. Camera angles were considered for placement of graphics which included wide shots of the environment and medium shots of the subject looking to-camera.

30s and 15s cutdowns were made for distribution on social channels, as well as vertical video formats for native mobile viewing experiences.

Supporting creative was used to promote the campaign and drive users to the website via display ads, social carousels and content marketing.

A second round of the campaign was greenlit later that same year. This cohort included additional US businesses, but also focused on our newly acquired UK customers to showcase Pipe’s international expansion.
